Snoring occurs when the
free flow of air through
the passages at the back
of the mouth and nose
is obstructed. This area
is the collapsible part
of the airway flow where
our tongue & upper
throat meet the soft palate
& uvula. We snore
when these structures
strike each other and
vibrate when we breathe.
Sometimes kids with large
tonsils and adenoids snore.
Deformities of the nose
e.g. deviated nasal septum
can also cause snoring.
